Dhaka, July 25 (BAN/ AD): Justice Tariq-ul-Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi from HC bench passed the order after the two officials, DSCC Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Md Sharif Ahmed and DNCC Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Md Mominur Rahman Mamun, appeared before it on Thursday.
HC noted that Aedes mosquitoes and the dengue virus are spreading on alarming rate, hence it ordered health officers of Dhaka North and South City Corporations to bring effective insecticides and gave them a week time.
HC on Monday had summoned the chief health officials as it was not pleased with the report filed about preventing mosquito-borne diseases. Dhaka North and South City Corporations, executive officers, health secretary, local government secretary, and directorate general of health director were asked to submit report on July 14 regarding step taken to prevent Dengue and Chikungunya. Also court pulled up authorities for their inaction in preventing disease spread.
