10 year agreement signed between Sri Lanka and Japan to send skilled workers for employment

Colombo, June 20 (BAN/ AD): On Wednesday Japanese and Sri Lankan government have signed an agreement by which Sri Lanka can send an unlimited number of skilled workers to Japan for employment under 14 categories for a period of 10 years.

Sri Lanka’s Minister of Telecommunications, Foreign Employment and Sports, Harin Fernando signed the “Memorandum of Cooperation on a “Basic Framework for Proper Operation of the System pertaining to Foreign Human Resources with the Status of Residence of “Specified Skilled Worker” between the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan and the National Police Agency, and the Ministry of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports of Sri Lanka.
