Colombo: A total of 283 skeletons are found at the Mannar mass grave till date.
The Chief Investigation Officer in charge of the Mannar Mass grave, specialist doctor Saminda Rajapaksha said, 274 skeletal remains out of the total which have been unearthed during a 121-day operation, have been placed at the Mannar Magistrate court’s compound under special police protection.
The skeletal remains will be sent to United States for a carbon dating test within the next month. Dr. Saminda Rajapaksa noted that these skeletons will be sent to the Deeta Analytics agency in Florida.
Excavations on the site commenced in March this year
