$5 million donated to support victims of Easter Sunday attacks by Muslim World League

Colombo, July 31 (BAN/ AD): Muslim World League has donated $ 5 million to support victims and families of deadly Easter Sunday attacks. This was confirmed by Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa.

On Tuesday donation was handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena by Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa at end of the National Conference on Peace, Harmony and Coexistence held at Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo.

Under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena the National Conference on Peace, Harmony, and Coexistence commenced on Tuesday. The religious leaders of all faiths had participated. Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa was the chief guest.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, is touring Sri Lanka to engage with leaders on promoting interfaith dialogue and peace, called on the Chief Prelate of Malwatte Chapter Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera and the Chief Prelate of Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero yesterday in Kandy.
