Colombo, Oct 08 (BAN/ AD): CaFFE has said it plans to deploy 7500 observers for upcoming presidential elections. CaFFE ia an election monitoring group in Sri Lanka. CaFFEE stands for Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE).
As upcoming presidential elections is contested by record number of contestants CaFFE says the large number of observers will be deployed to monitor the anticipated situations.
Ahmed Manas CaFFE’s acting executive director says there have been reports of violence and violations of election laws at every election after the nominations were handed over.
CaFFE would pay special attention to violations such as bribing voters. Meanwhile, Director of People’s Action for Free and Fair Election (PAFFREL) Rohana Hettiarachchi said 35 representatives from the Asian Election Monitoring Network are due to arrive in Sri Lanka to observe the Presidential Election.
