Colombo, Aug 21 (BAN/ AD): 8 state institutions have been summoned by the Parliamentary Select Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) to look into the performance and current progress of the institutions as per sources.
Few institutions summoned are national carrier SriLankan Airlines, Lanka Sathosa and the National Water Supply and Drainage Board. On August 23 progress of the Ceylon Electricity Board will be reviewed.
Sri Lanka cricket has been summoned on September 3 said COPE Chairman Sunil Handunneththi. COPE has also summoned the National Savings Bank, People’s Bank and the Atomic Energy Authority. Meetings and discussions of the COPE have been opened to the media since 9th August.
