Colombo, Sep 2 (BAN/ AD): In coming few weeks 9 state institutions have been summoned by the Parliamentary Select Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) for review the performance and the progress of the institutions.
On September 3 Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has been summoned and on September 17 Batticaloa Campus and the Hira Foundation have been called. On September 18 the Atomic Energy Authority will be reviewed and on September 19 the officials of the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau have been summoned to the committee on September 19. September 20 has been fixed for the Ayurvedic Medical Institute and on October 9 Ceylon Electricity Board and on 8th October and Development Lotteries Board on 9th October.
The 31-member COPE examines the accounts of the Public Corporations and of any Business Undertaking vested in the Government to ensure the observance of financial discipline in Public Corporations and other Semi Governmental bodies in which the Government has a financial stake.
