Colombo, Oct 02 (BAN/ AD): As government has given assurance that salary issues will be addressed the Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association (SLASA) has ended their strike.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved allowance of Rs.15,000 instead of the present allowance for officers in various grades of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, irrespective of their service period.
Earlier allowances were paid as per grades ranging from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 15,000 based on the service duration, this has been revised and Rs. 15,000 executive allowance is approved. The Cabinet paper was submitted after the Cabinet sub-committee appointed to look into salary anomalies in the public sector. The strike was dragged for 20 days and employees have decided to report to duty on Oct 02.
