Admiral Karannagoda arrest stayed by Supreme Court

Colombo, Mar 08: Navy Commander Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda is relieved by SC as the court has stayed the arrest of Admiral. The Supreme Court issued an order on the Inspector General of Police which has prevented his arrest in case relating to abduction and forced disappearance of 11 youth from Colombo in 2008.

The former Navy Commander was ordered by the court to appear before the CID on March 11th at 09 am to provide a statement over the incident.

Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Romesh de Silva appeared before SC promising his client will appear before the court when the summons is served on him.

Admiral had requested SC to prevent his arrest and had filed FR petition.
