Colombo, June 5 (BAN/ AD): Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton who is on tour of Sri Lanka met with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday at Temple Trees and assured to continue support to Sri Lanka.
Australian Minister said that his country will provide ongoing support to Sri Lanka to rebuild after the Easter Sunday tragedy. He also discussed Australia’s tough border protection policy with the Premier and expressed his views on the measures that will be taken against those who come to Australia illegally.
PM Ranil expressed his gratitude to Australia for the support extended to Sri Lanka. Australian Minister visited the St. Sebastian’s Church in Negombo, one of three churches attacked on April 21 by terrorists and laid a wreath offering condolences for the Easter Sunday bomb attack victims.
Australian minister said “There is a special bond between Australia and Sri Lanka and we will continue to work very closely with our counterparts to provide ongoing support to the Sri Lankan Government and the Sri Lankan people to ensure they can rebuild after this horrific tragedy.”
