Bangladeshi Naval ship Somudra Avijan on goodwill visit arrives at Colombo port

Colombo, Sep 07 (BAN/ AD): Bangladeshi naval ship Somudra Avijan arrived at the Port of Colombo on Saturday and in accordance with naval traditions was welcomed. Commander Zahirul Haque the Commanding Officer Bangladesh ship called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe at the Western Naval Command Headquarters. Both commanders exchanged mementos and has small discussion.

BNS Somudra Avijan is on a 4 day visit it measures 115.2m long and 13.1m wide vessel with a displacement capacity of 3367.58 tons. The crew will also take part in friendly sports activities, cultural programs and visits to the interesting places of the island organized by the Sri Lanka Navy. On September 10 ship is scheduled to depart Sri Lanka.
