Dhaka, Oct 04 (BAN/ AD): On Friday morning BNP and affiliates protested outside National press club demanding Khaleeda’s release and arrangements for her better treatment. Scores of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and supporters gathered part of a symbolic sit-in program.
BNP major demand was immediate release of party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The protest started around 11am on Friday. They also demanded arrangement for her better treatment.
“We have to wage tougher movement to free our mother [Khaleda Zia]. Otherwise, democracy will never be established.” Said Farid Uddin Ahmed, vice-president of BNP Dhaka unit. For the past few days, senior leaders and MPs of BNP have been urging the government to let the ailing BNP chief secure bail and allow her to go abroad for medical treatment.
