Dhaka, July 20 (BAN/ AD): BNP leader Zainul Abedin Farroque has said all steps will be taken to free party Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail. In coming days BNP will be stepping up efforts by taking to the streets and protesting. Farroque said the government had long been suppressing the party activists with repressive acts to hang onto power.
BNP leader Zainul Abedin Farroque said “Our party will undertake tough action programs soon to strengthen our movement to ensure Khaleda Zia’s release from jail.” He also added “Over 100,000 people joined our grand rally in Barisal yesterday (Thursday) a huge number of people will also take part in our rallies in Chittagong tomorrow (Saturday) and in Khulna on July 25.”
He also added “We hope the government will soon take steps for freeing Khaleda Zia. Or else, its throne will be shaken in the face of strong movement across the country.”
The program was arranged by Aparajeyo Bangladesh, a pro-BNP platform demanding the release of Khaleda Zia.
BNP leader Zainul Abedin Farroque said BNP was gaining strength and the unity of party rank and file was becoming consolidated after continuous suppression.
