Colombo, June 13 (BAN/ AD): President has changed his stand and asked his officials to convene the next Cabinet on June 18 as per Daily Mirror. President Sirisena earlier had told that he would not call for the Cabinet meetings as the Head of the Cabinet until the government terminates deliberations of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC).
But unfazed by President warnings Ranil government refused to cancel the PSC sessions. Accordingly, the President did not have the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. However, he appeared to have relented this week and decided to have the next meeting on June 18.
President Sirisena on Thursday asked his officials to make preparations for cabinet meeting on June 18 before leaving for Tajikistan.
