Colombo, June 8 (BAN/ AD): Dr Jayampathi Wickremaratne a leading person in drafting the 19th amendment to the constitution has said there are certain complications in it. He was addressing a media briefing on June 7 where he said if the initial draft of the 19th amendment to the constitution was passed in parliament, this situation wouldn’t have arisen. He added that Sri Lanka wouldn’t have two authorities fighting over state expenditure heads.
He further said the amendment was sabotaged and they had to make it lighter to obtain a 2/3rds majority. He said the best example is the composition of the constitutional council.
