Dhaka, July 26 (BAN/ AD): As dengue outbreak is raging Dhaka Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has urged all citizens to come forward for prevention of Dengue. He said “There is no way to ignore the outburst of dengue and the party is really concerned about its prevention. Aedes mosquitoes will not bite us based on our affiliation with political parties. So everyone should come forward to prevent this dangerous disease.” Quader was addressing media at Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi.
Quader urged city corporations, ministry and others should work together to prevent dengue. He added “Dengue fever is not a local phenomenon and several other countries like China, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Philippine are also suffering from it.”
As per Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) so far record number of dengue cases have been reported with 9,256 patients since January 1. 8 patients have lost lives so far. Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon claims things are not so serious and mass media was exaggerating the number of dengue patients and spreading rumours.
