Dhaka, Aug 10 (BAN/ AD): With Dengue spreading over nation August saw 18,207 cases compared to 16,253 cases in July. The situation is similar everywhere in other districts also. On Friday 2,002 new cases were recorded.
With this, the total number of patients stands at 36,668 as of Friday, with 29 deaths from January 1, the data reveals. However, the unofficial death doll across the nation stands at 76.
In Dhaka, Rifat, 10, son of Khorshed of Jamalpur, died at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 12:30am on Friday.
SBMCH Director Dr Bakir Hossain said: “Mojibor was admitted at the hospital at 11pm Thursday in critical condition. He was suffering from diarrhoea, and dengue.”
Authorities have asked people to be alert while travelling. With huge number of Eid holidayers spread of dengue is feared. Authorities have also asked to get blood test before heading to native places.
