Colombo, June 20 (BAN/ AD): Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena has conveyed message to investigating agency that investigations against those who are in custody under Terrorism Prevention Act for minor offences must expedited and also free those who are found innocent. During the National Security Council convened at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday president gave these instructions.
Security arrangements and the prevailing situation in the country were discussed at a length during the meeting and the process to ensure the national security was also reviewed. President emphasized the importance of continuing the current security arrangements that are in place at places of worship.
Top ministers and officials who attended meeting were Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and several other Ministers, Secretary of Defense, Chief of Defense Staff, Commanders of tri-forces, Intelligence Officers, IGP.
