Colombo, Sep 12 (BAN/ AD): On Wednesday President Sirisena and Togo’s President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé met and discussed expanding trade and investment ties. Togo president is on a 2 day visit to Sri Lanka. On his arrival at the Presidential Secretariat, President Faure Gnassingbe was warmly welcomed by President Sirisena.
President Faure Gnassingbe will be meeting Sri Lankan businessmen on Thursday and will invite them to new investment opportunities in Togo. He said facilities for the businessmen in the garment industry will be enhanced.
President Sirisena briefed his Togolese counterpart on the successful measures taken by the government and the security forces within a short period of time to combat terrorism surfaced with the terrorist attacks on the 21st of April. President Sirisena expressed his satisfaction over Togo President’s short but fruitful visit to Sri Lanka and said it is a top priority for Sri Lanka to strengthen economic ties with African countries.
