London mayoral and UK local election 2021

London 08 May (BAN/SL) This afternoon vote count which was counted overnight on Friday gave Sadiq Khan opening lead of almost 25,000 votes over Shaun Bailey. Shaun Bailey from the Tories has won a lot of votes from the suburbs, whilst a lot of labour votes have come from Ealing, Brent and Hillingdon.

On Friday, seven of City Hall’s 14 constituencies had declared their results, with Mr Khan having received 487,104 first preference votes to 462,837 for Mr Bailey.

This is was a clear overnight lead of 24,267. Counting resumed at 8am this morning and the final results will be this evening, and Londoners will find out tomorrow morning who their Mayor is.

The overnight tally showed Khan won 39% of first preference votes with Bailey winning 37%. Green Party candidate Sian Berry was in third place with 8%.
