LPG to be exported to India not LNG: PM Hasina

Dhaka, Oct 09 (BAN/ AD): PM Hasina has said “Now, we are importing LPG from abroad and some of it will be exported to Tripura of India.” Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has clarified that only liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will be exported to India and not liquefied natural gas (LNG).

On Wednesday while addressing a press conference at Ganabhaban in Dhaka she made this statement. The premier also added that Tripura will produce electricity from the LPG imported from Bangladesh.

PM recently attended the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. After returning from US, she went to India on October 3 to attend the India Economic Summit 2019 of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

In India she had a bilateral meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi and met Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on October 5.
