Brussels, Jan 14 (BAN/ AD): On Monday European Union terrorist list was renewed by European Council which maintains persons, groups and entities in terrorism activities. EU has continued defunct Tamil separatist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as a terrorist organization among 21 terrorist groups and 15 individuals.
After a long bloody 3 decade fight LTTE was eliminated in Sri Lanka in May 2009. LTTE is active in European countries as well as in Malaysia and India. Some people are trying to revive the organization in some of these countries and in Sri Lanka.
Following terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 EU is maintaining the list and refreshes least every six months, on the basis of a regular exchange of information between member states on any new facts and developments relating to the listings.
