Murder weapon recovered, 1 more arrested in Rifat murder case

Dhaka, July 8 (BAN/ AD): Rifat murder case which has drawn attention throughout nation, police have now recovered murder weapon and arrested 1 more person. Police found murder weapon used in Rifat murder from a ditch beside the canteen of Barguna Government College.

As per police sources “Based on the information gleaned from Rifat Farazi– one of the key accused in the murder– during interrogation, we recovered the murder weapon from the ditch on Monday morning.” Sources also revealed arrest of Ariyan Srabon, another accused in the case.

Criminals had murdered Rifat in presence of his wife Ayesha Siddika Minni, in broad daylight on June 26. The whole incident was recorded on surveillance camera. Video footage of the killing caused a uproar online and criticism across Bangladesh.

The main accused Sabbir Ahmed alias Nayon Bond, was killed killed in gunfight with police in Sadar upazila on July 2.
