Colombo, Sep 18 (BAN/ AD): In a series of events organised by National Development Bank PLC, to commemorate 40 years yesterday rang the market opening bell at Colombo stock exchange.
CEO of NDB Dimantha Seneviratne addressed the gathering and said said the NDB share has been listed in the CSE since 1993, now for more than 25 years. He added “We are proud of the many contributions the NDB has made as a listed entity, to the capital market such as securing long term local and foreign capital to the country.”
CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike said that the Bank has added to the value proposition of the stock market since listing in 1993 as one of the first state-owned enterprises to list on the exchange.
Established in 1979 as the National Development Bank of Sri Lanka, NDB’s inaugurating purpose was of promoting industrial, agricultural, commercial and other developments of the economy of Sri Lanka.
NDB today has over 150 ATM/CRMs and Bank2U (Branchless Banking) offerings made available at over 70 locations.
