Colombo, June 4 (BAN/ AD): A.J.M. Muzammil the former Mayor of Colombo has been appointed as the new Governor of the Western Province.
At the presidential secretariat in Colombo, He was sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena, a short while ago, President’s Media Division confirmed.
Muzammil previously has served as Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Malaysia as well as the Chairman of the Central Environment Authority (CEA). Muzammil takes over from Azath Salley who tendered his resignation yesterday along with Easter Province Governor M.L.A.M. Hizbullah.
