Colombo, July 18 (BAN/ AD): The talks with minister have failed to bring end to postal strike started on 16 July for 48 hours. The strike of employees of the Colombo Central Postal Exchange commenced at 4.00 pm Tuesday (16) will continue for today.
The convener of the Joint Postal Trade Union Front Chinthaka Bandara stated that the trade union action would continue as the talks with the Minister in charge of the subject failed. He further stated that if the authorities fail to address these demands, a postal strike will be launched island wide.
M H A Haleem Minister of Postal Services & Muslim Religious Affairs said appropriate solution would be found for striking postal employees at the Cabinet meeting next Friday.
