Colombo, Jan 18 (BAN/ AD): In order to stop unnecessary delays, corruption, fraud and duplication President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is planning to integrate data and information of all government institutions through a central data network.
On Friday in a cabinet meeting President has directed the officials in the information and communication sector to take measures to build a mechanism to provide relevant services through the internet with a simple approval system.
The network will be designed by Information Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA). The new database will store national identity cards, driving license, passport, birth certificate, death certificates, and deed registration data.
