Dhaka, July 20 (BAN/ AD): Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that Priya Saha will be sued on sedition charges. He said Priya Saha’s false stories are targeted to malign Bangladesh. He said allegation made by Priya Saha to US President Donald Trump on persecution of minorities in Bangladesh as “absolutely false.”
Quader added “Priya Saha’s allegation was absolutely false. No one will agree with her. A sedition case will be filed against her. The process is underway.”
A Bangladeshi citizen Priya Saha had participated in the Second Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom held at the US Department of State in Washington, DC from July 16-18. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen also attended the meeting. On invitation of Mike Pompeo delegates from 106 countries, including about 40 foreign ministers, took part in the meeting.
A video clip, went viral showing Priya Saha, one of the organizing secretaries of Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, pleading to Trump to save 18 million people of minority groups in Bangladesh from persecution. She alleged that 37 million Hindus, Buddhists and Christians had vanished who are targeted by fundamentalist Muslims groups backed by political support.
