Dhaka, Oct 22 (BAN/ AD): On Tuesday afternoon Hefazat-e-Islam members gathered in front of Baitul Mukarram mosque on Topkhana Road as a part of their countrywide protest program. They were protesting against the Bhola clash, which left four people people dead.
“We have deployed adequate number of policemen to avoid any untoward situation in the area.” Said Paltan police station officer Abu Bakar Siddique. On Monday, Hefazat Secretary General Junayed Babunagari had declared the protest program.
On Sunday, four people were killed and more than 200 injured in clash near Borhanuddin upazila. Police and locals allege messages containing derogatory remarks about Allah and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) were posted by Biplob Chandra Shuvo.
On October 19 Biplob went to Borhanuddin police station to file a general diary claiming that his account had been hacked. Police also detained two suspected hackers. A case was filed against 5,000 unknown people over the clash with Borhanuddin police station.
