PSC investigating Easter Sunday attacks term extended till 30 September

Colombo, Aug 22 (BAN/ AD): Parliament today announced that the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) term has been extended till September 30 which is probing terrorist attacks that took place in different places in Sri Lanka on 21st April 2019.

The parliament today granted extension till September 30 in terms of Standing Order 102. By that time PSC committee will have to submit final report. Select Committee of Parliament was appointed by a resolution passed by Parliament on 22nd May 2019 to look into and report to Parliament on the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

The eight-member Select Committee is chaired by Deputy Speaker, Ananda Kumarasiri and include Ministers Ravi Karunanayake, Rajitha Senaratne and Rauf Hakeem, MPs Jayampathy Wickramaratne, Prof. Ashu Marasinghe, Nalinda Jayathissa Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, and MA Sumanthiran.
