Recoveries continue to outnumber new Covid cases in Karnataka

Bengaluru, June 22 (IANS) Recoveries continue to outnumber the daily Covid cases in Karnataka as 8,111 more patients have been discharged, while 3,709 fresh infections were reported across the state, said the health bulletin on Tuesday.

“Recoveries shot up to 26,62,250, so far with 8,111 patients getting discharged during the day , while 3,709 had tested positive on Monday, taking the state’s Covid tally to 28,15,029 including 1,18,592 active cases,” said the bulletin.

As the epicentre of the pandemic in the state, Bengaluru reported 803 case on Monday, taking its Covid tally to 12,07,096 including 69,344 active cases, while recoveries rose to 11,22,252 with 1,745 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours.

The virus claimed 139 lives including 26 in Bengaluru, 15 in Dakshina Kannada and 11 in Mysuru and with rest remaining in 27 districts across the state during the day.

Out of 1,29,099 total tests conducted across the state during the day, 42,694 through Rapid Antigen detection and 86,405 through RT-PCR method.

Positivity rate rose to 2.87 per cent and case fatality rate to 3.74 per cent across the state on Monday.

Meanwhile, 2,79,310 beneficiaries including 78,132 above 45 years and 1,93,297 in the 18-44 years age group were vaccinated across the state during the day.

Cumulatively, 1,99,12,833 people including senior citizens, healthcare workers and frontline warriors have received the jab since the vaccination drive was launched on January 16,” added the bulletin./Eom/240 words

Bengaluru, Jan 29 (IANS) Maintaining the healthy trend, with 607 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, recoveries outnumbered 468 new Covid cases across Karnataka in a day, said the state health bulletin on Friday.

“Recoveries rose to 9,20,110 till date, with 607 discharged in the day, while 468 new cases on Thursday increased the state’s Covid tally to 9,38,401, including 6,061 active cases.

With two patients, including one each in Bengaluru and Mandya succumbing to the virus, the state’s death toll rose to 12,211 so far.

Of the 148 patients in the intensive care units (ICUs), 69 are in Bengaluru hospitals and 12 in Kalaburagi, while the rest are in 28 remaining districts across the southern state.

Out of 68,532 tests conducted in the day, 4,600 were through rapid-antigen detection and 63,932 through RT-PCR method.

Positivity rate for the day was 0.68 per cent and case fatality rate was 0.42 per cent on Thursday across the state.

Meanwhile, of the 50,439 beneficiaries registered for the vaccine, only 17,832 took the shot, achieving 35 per cent of the target for the day.

In Bengaluru, 4,009 took the jab though 14,072 were registered, accounting for 28 per cent of the target.

Bengaluru, Dec 30 (IANS) With 1,217 patients discharged in a day, recoveries continued to outnumber 973 new Covid cases in Karnataka, according to the state’s health bulletin on Wednesday.

“With 1,217 patients discharged in the day, recoveries rose to 8,94,834 till date, while 973 new cases on Tuesday increased the state’s Covid tally to 9,18,544 so far, including 11,610 active cases,” said the bulletin here.

With 7 succumbing to the infection in the last 24 hours, the state’s death toll rose to 12,081 since the pandemic broke on March 8.

Bengaluru registered 554 fresh cases, taking its tally to 3,87,832, including 7,534 active cases, while recoveries rose to 3,75,986, with 765 discharged in the last 24 hours.

The virus claimed 5 lives in the day, taking the city’s death toll to 4,311.

Of the 202 patients in the intensive care units (ICUs) across the southern state, 89 are in Bengaluru hospitals, 12 in Kalaburagi and 10 in Tumakuru district.

Out of 1,03,857 tests conducted in the day, 11,137 were through rapid-antigen detection and 92,720 through RT-PCR method.

Of the 62 UK returnees tested in the day, 2 were positive and 60 were negative.

“Of the total 1,965 UK returnees tested till date, 31 were positive and 1,680 were negative, while results of 248 are awaited,” added the bulletin.

Positivity rate for the day was 0.93 per cent and case fatality rate 0.71 per cent across the state.
