Resigned Muslim ministers requested to return back by leading Buddhist prelates

Colombo, June 6 (BAN/ AD): As country is going through a turmoil post Easter Sunday attacks, On Wednesday leading Chief Prelates and the Maha Sangha of the three main Buddhist chapters had a discussion the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya to find a solution.

After having a detailed discussion on present situation in the country they drafted a 15-point proposal to restore stability in the country. Chief Prelate of Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera presided over the discussion. After the meeting the Anunayake of the Malwatte Chapter, Ven. Niyangoda Vijithasiri Thera said the draft will be published today (6th) or tomorrow (7th) after further discussions.

Ven. Vijithasiri Thero said that there is a ongoing turmoil among the citizens regarding the current situation in the country’s social, economic and administrative spheres. The Maha Sangha said it is very important for Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim and other communities for country to move forward.
