Islamabad: Today the Finance Minister Asad Umar has refuted the rumours of his resignation from the post. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked him to continue his job. He also added that PM Khan said that such rumours are propaganda against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Sources at the PM House had also revealed that the reports off the resignation are not true. The Finance Minister has no intention to resign, added the source. The claims came after the minister received severe backlash as the dollar became uncontrollable and rupee faced devaluation.
Also, apart from economic experts and opposition, the inner circle of the government is also not satisfied with Asad Umar’s performance. Rumours were rife from Monday morning that the finance minister has resigned from his post following the criticism.
The minister has full support of the Prime Minister and will continue performing his duties despite problems, added the source.
