Sri Lanka:The annual financial statement of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will be handed over to the Election Commission, a move that has never been done before by a political party in Sri Lanka, states SLPP National Organiser Basil Rajapaksa.
“As a party, we are keen to promote transparency. The financial statement will be distributed among members of the party which functions under the guidance and leadership of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa. We have the ability to win any election which will be held this year,” Mr. Rajapaksa said.
He further states that “As a party, we are committed to working harder than the others. People expect a more people-friendly service from us. The country needs a new vision today because society is crippled with fraud and corruption. There is no rule or law and incidents of gender-based violence has increased,”
This ethos they hope will guide them into developing the country as a whole in the future.
