Sri Lanka to get help from Qatar in sustainable energy production

Colombo, Jan 27 (BAN/ AD): Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs of Qatar has said Qatar is willing to assist Sri Lanka to set up a reliable network for sustainable energy generation. He said this during meeting with President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat.

He also congratulated President Rajapaksa on his election victory, also requested the nomination of a special envoy from Sri Lankan side to further discuss the implementation of the proposal. President Rajapaksa said Lanka is willing in getting Qatar’s help in generating energy.

President said adding that he would nominate Secretary to the President Dr. PB Jayasundara as the representative of the Government of Sri Lanka.

Qatar minister also invited President to Doha to look into related matters. Sri Lanka’s plan for power generation will be discussed during the visit.
