Colombo, Aug 31 (BAN/ AD): Four decades ago on September 1, 1979, the first flight of SriLankan Airlines took off from Bandaranaike International Airport to Bangkok. From modest start to full fledged carrier today it has been a promising journey.
The journey of 40 years in which several global awards were won and it has carried millions of passengers each year with a route network of 109 cities in 48 countries.
