Dhaka, Sep 30 (BAN/ AD): The most shocking case of Nusrat murder is coming to an end with Tribunal today fixed Oct 24 as date for handing down verdict. On April 6 Nusrat Jahan was set ablaze on madrasa rooftop.
After hearing both side arguments Judge Mamunur Rashid of Feni Women and Children Repression fixed Oct 24 date for announcing verdict.
“Lawyers representing the state put forward their comprehensive argument, demanding maximum punishment for culprits.” Said Public Prosecutor of Feni District Judge Court Hafez Ahmed. On the other hand, the defendant’s lawyer Advocate Mahfuzul Haque expressed hope that his clients would be acquitted in the case.
“The allegations of Nusrat’s brutal murder have been proved to be true in court. Therefore, I hope that the convicts receive maximum punishment.” Said Nusrat brother.
Police chargesheet has accused 15 people was submitted on May 29. The trial for the case began on June 10 when the case moved to a Feni court. On June 20, 16 people, including the madrasa principle Sirajuddaula were indicted by the court.
