Colombo, Dec 28 (BAN/ AD): Sarah Hulton the British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka has said that UK is willing to assist Sri Lanka in reforming prisons and legislation.
On Friday the British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka spoke with Minister of Justice for Human Rights and Law Reforms Nimal Siripala de Silva.
Minister of Justice for Human Rights and Law Reforms Nimal Siripala de Silva briefed the High Commissioner on the reforms that the new government expects to implement in the legal field as well as in the prison sector.
UK High Commissioner extended expertise in prison reforms and drafting legislation. During the meeting, the envoy also discussed strong professional links between the UK and Sri Lanka, human rights and accountability.
