Colombo, Oct 24 (BAN/ AD): As per latest report released Sri Lanka ranks 99th in World Bank’s Doing Business 2020 index. Its 1 rank upwards compared to last year. Sri Lanka’s overall score remained unchanged from last year at 61.8 with no new business reforms implemented this year.
The ranking reflects ease of doing business. The scores for the 10 topics included in this year’s aggregate ranking. It also shows global best practices in business regulation. A higher score indicates a more efficient business environment and stronger legal institutions.
India and Pakistan have made the most business regulatory reforms. Bangladesh has also made notable improvements. However, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives did not make any regulatory changes in the past year.
India has ranked 63rd followed by Bhutan (89) and Nepal (94). Bangladesh (168) and Afghanistan (173). Pakistan ranked 108th and Maldives 147th are lowest ranked countries.
